Minimum Qualifying Criteria for AY 2025–2026

All candidates seeking admission must qualify in NEET-UG 2025 conducted by NTA.

The minimum qualifying percentile as per NMC norms is as follows:

  • General category: 50th percentile (Score range: 686–144)
  • General – PwD: 45th percentile (Score range: 143–127)
  • SC category: 40th percentile (Score range: 143–113)
  • OBC category: 40th percentile (Score range: 143–113)
  • ST category: 40th percentile (Score range: 143–113)
  • SC/OBC-PwD: 40th percentile (Score range: 126–113)
  • ST-PwD: 40th percentile (Score range: 126–113)

Eligibility Criteria

For State Government Quota Seats:

  1. Candidates must be either Scheduled Tribe (ST) or Scheduled Caste (SC), including Other Scheduled Tribes (OST) of Meghalaya, holding a valid certificate issued by a competent authority in the state.
    OR
    A permanent resident of Meghalaya possessing a Permanent Resident Certificate (PRC) issued as per Government of Meghalaya Political Department Letter No. POL.97/74/174 dated 10th July 1983.
  2. Academic Eligibility:
    Candidates must have passed 12th Standard (or equivalent) with English as one of the subjects and obtained at least 50% aggregate marks in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology/Biotechnology. For ST, SC, and OST candidates, the minimum requirement is 40%.
    Candidates must also be declared as qualified in NEET-UG 2025, based on All India Rank.

For Management Quota Seats:

  1. Candidates must be Indian citizens.
  2. Candidates must have passed 12th Standard (or equivalent) with English as one of the subjects and obtained at least 50% aggregate marks in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology/Biotechnology. For ST, SC, and OST candidates, the minimum requirement is 40%.
  3. Candidates must be declared qualified in NEET-UG 2025 based on All India Rank.

For NRI Quota Seats:

  1. Non-Resident Indians (NRIs) are eligible for admission, subject to rules and regulations framed by the State Government and Government of India.
  2. NRI candidates must upload a certificate from the Indian Diplomatic Mission in their country of residence confirming their NRI status.
  3. Academic eligibility is the same as above, and candidates must be qualified in NEET-UG 2025.

Other Eligibility Conditions

  • Candidates must be at least 17 years old as of 31st December 2025.
  • Candidates must be medically fit, certified by a medical board constituted by the Health & Family Welfare Department, Government of Meghalaya.
  • Candidates who were selected in earlier rounds but did not take admission cannot reapply.

Important Notes

  • Qualifying in NEET-UG 2025 does not automatically guarantee admission. Admission is subject to eligibility, rank, verification, and other government-prescribed criteria.
  • All candidates must complete the online application form at www.meghealth.gov.in.

Declaration and Verification

All information in the online application form must be filled with care and accuracy. Candidates are responsible for the correctness of all details and uploaded documents.

If, at any stage, it is found that any information or document submitted is false or fabricated:

  • The admission shall be cancelled immediately.
  • The candidate will be barred from admission under the State Government quota for three years.
  • Legal or criminal proceedings may be initiated for submission of fraudulent documents such as false ST/SC/OST or PRC certificates.

Counselling Procedure

  • Counselling for all quotas (State, Management, and NRI) will be conducted by the Meghalaya State Counselling Authority for Medical Education (MSCAME).
  • Candidates must register online via the official Health Department website.
  • Seat allotment will be based on NEET rank and reservation criteria.
  • Document verification requires original documents including:
    • Age proof
    • NEET scorecard and admit card
    • Domicile or PRC certificate (if applicable)
    • Class 10 and 12 mark sheets and certificates
    • ST/SC certificate (if applicable)
    • Passport and NRI verification (for NRI candidates)

Reporting for counselling and document submission will take place at the Office of the Director of Health Services (Medical Education & Research), Lawmali, Pasteur Hills, Shillong.
Detailed schedule will be notified on the government website.


Fee Structure

  • State Quota: Application Fee ₹500; Counselling Fee NIL; Tuition Fee ₹4,95,000 (non-refundable).
  • Management Quota: Application Fee ₹500; Counselling Fee ₹3,000; Tuition Fee ₹22,00,000 (non-refundable).
  • NRI Quota: Application Fee ₹500; Counselling Fee ₹25,000; Tuition Fee USD 43,000 (non-refundable).

Candidates from the first or second round who did not get selected may reapply and are exempted from application fees.

Mode of Payment:
Debit Card, Credit Card, Net Banking, or UPI.
Candidates must ensure successful payment confirmation.
