Jowai Municipal Board Recruitment 2025 – Apply Online for Various Engineering and Officer Posts

The Office of the Jowai Municipal Board, West Jaintia Hills District, Meghalaya, invites online applications from Indian citizens who are permanent residents of Khasi and Jaintia Hills (excluding East Khasi Hills), for filling up various posts under the Khasi–Jaintia Cluster.

This recruitment is being conducted as per Notification No. UAU.86/2025/21, dated 21st October 2025, issued by the Government of Meghalaya.

   • Qualification: Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or Diploma in Civil Engineering with 5 years’ experience.

Examination and Selection Process

The Selection Committee may conduct online examinations followed by personal interviews.

Tentative Exam Dates:

• 8th December 2025: AE (Civil) and AE (Mechanical)
• 9th December 2025: AE (Environmental)
• 10th December 2025: AE (Hydrologist) and JE (Mechanical)
• 11th December 2025: JE (Electrical) and Finance Officer

Syllabus:

• General Awareness (25 Marks): Culture, History, Geography, Current Affairs (National & International), Environment, Reasoning, Quantitative Aptitude, and Computer Knowledge.
• Core Subjects (75 Marks): Based on the specific engineering or finance discipline.

Application Fees

• Level 15 Posts: ₹460 (General) / ₹230 (SC/ST)
• Level 11 Posts: ₹320 (General) / ₹160 (SC/ST)
  Mode of Payment: Internet Banking or UPI (non-refundable)

Age Limit

• Minimum: 18 years
• Maximum: 32 years (as on 01.12.2025)
• Relaxation: 5 years for SC/ST candidates.

Reservation Policy

As the posts are under the Khasi–Jaintia Hills Cluster, a combined reservation of 80% will apply for Khasi, Jaintia, and Garo candidates, with 5% reserved for other Scheduled Castes and Tribes.

• Apply well before the deadline to avoid last-minute issues.
• A unique application code will be generated for each post — retain it for all future correspondence.
• Incomplete, incorrect, or falsified applications will be rejected.
• No TA/DA will be provided for written test or interview.
• Admit cards, updates, and results will be available only at www.westjaintiahills.gov.in; no individual call letters will be sent.
• Electronic gadgets are strictly prohibited in examination centers.
• Admission at all recruitment stages will be provisional, pending verification of original certificates during the interview.
• Candidates found guilty of impersonation or providing false information will face cancellation of candidature and legal action.
