The Khasi Hills Autonomous District Council (KHADC), Shillong, through its Recruitment Committee, invites applications from eligible and bonafide Indian citizens belonging to the Scheduled Tribe community of Meghalaya for one (1) vacant post of Magistrate First Class in the Subordinate District Council Court, Khasi Hills Autonomous District Council, Shillong.

This post carries an initial pay scale of ₹62,400 – ₹1,23,100/- PM (Level-18) along with other admissible allowances as per rules.

The selected candidate must be well-versed in Khasi customary laws and able to speak, read, and write the Khasi language proficiently.


Essential Qualifications

  1. Age Requirement:
    Candidates must be not less than 25 years and not more than 37 years as on 15 December 2025.
  2. Educational & Professional Requirement:
    Applicants must be Law Graduates from a recognized university/institution and must have cleared the All India Bar Examination (AIBE).
    A minimum of three (3) years of professional experience as an Advocate in a Court of Law is mandatory.

How to Apply

  1. Application forms must be filled completely and submitted with attested copies of all certificates, four passport-size photographs, and a self-addressed envelope.
    A Demand Draft of ₹500/- (non-refundable), drawn in favour of Executive Committee, KHADC, Shillong and payable at Meghalaya Rural Bank, Iewduh Branch, must be enclosed.
    Submit the application to the undersigned in Room No. 317.
  2. Candidates must clearly mention the division, class, and percentage of marks obtained in their academic qualifications.
  3. The last date for receiving applications is 15 December 2025, during office hours.
    Applications received after the deadline will not be accepted.
  4. Eligible applicants will be required to appear for a written examination consisting of three papers of 100 marks each.
  5. Candidates must secure a minimum of 60 marks in each paper to qualify for the personal interview, which carries 50 marks.
  6. Applicants already in government service must apply through proper channel and must submit a No Objection Certificate.
  7. All candidates must appear for both written examination and interview at their own expense.
  8. Application forms can be obtained from the Office of the undersigned or from Room No. 317, on cash payment of ₹200/- only.
  9. The list of eligible and ineligible candidates will be displayed on the Notice Board of the District Council Court, Shillong, and on the official KHADC website (khadc.nic.in).
  10. Eligible candidates will be issued an Admit Card for the written examination.
    Admit Cards must be collected from Room No. 317 on the date announced on the Council Notice Board and website.
  11. Incomplete applications or those containing incorrect information will be summarily rejected without further notice.
