The Meghalaya Basin Development Authority (MBDA) invites applications from eligible and motivated candidates for the Apprenticeship Training Program – Field Engineer, under various ongoing projects being implemented across the State of Meghalaya.
This program aims to provide hands-on practical exposure and skill development opportunities for young professionals aspiring to contribute to field-level infrastructure development in the State.
Program Details
Name of the Apprenticeship Program: Field Engineer
Number of Seats: 10 (Ten)
Duration: 6 Months
Educational Qualification
- Graduate Degree (B.E/B.Tech) or Diploma in Civil Engineering from a recognized University or Technical Institute.
- Candidates with a Postgraduate Degree (M.E/M.Tech) in Structural Engineering, Construction Management, Geotechnical Engineering, or Water Resources Engineering will be given preference.
Essential Skills and Requirements
- Proficiency in AutoCAD (2D & 3D) and preparation of structural and site drawings.
- Ability to prepare estimates, Bills of Quantities (BoQ), and cost analyses for civil works.
- Knowledge of construction methods, materials, and field supervision.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Willingness to work in districts and blocks across Khasi, Jaintia, and Garo regions, including travel to remote areas.
Recruitment Process
Candidates will be shortlisted through a written examination, which will include the following components:
- General Knowledge
- Aptitude and Reasoning
- Psychometric Test
- Subject Matter (Civil Engineering)
Eligibility and Conditions
- Applicants must be residents of Meghalaya.
- Age Limit: Minimum 18 years and maximum 45 years.
- Selected apprentices will receive a stipend of ₹15,000 per month during the training period, as per organizational policy.
- Apprentices must maintain at least 90% attendance and submit a work completion report at the end of the training.
- Candidates will be placed across various districts and blocks of Meghalaya.
- TA/DA for approved field visits will be provided as per MBDA policies.
