The Meghalaya Basin Management Agency (MBMA) invites online applications from eligible candidates for the post of Village Data Volunteer (VDV) Coordinator. The position is offered on a daily wages basis and selected candidates will be posted across the District Project Management Units in Meghalaya.

Position: Village Data Volunteer Coordinator
Educational Qualification
- Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences, Rural Development, Social Work, or any related field.
Essential Requirements
- Must own a two-wheeler and possess a valid two-wheeler driving license.
- Minimum 1 year of experience in fieldwork, data collection, community engagement, or programme facilitation.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office and Google Suite.
Key Responsibilities
- Extensive travel across assigned villages and field locations.
- Oversee and coordinate the work of all VDVs in the assigned cluster/block.
- Ensure timely and quality delivery of all assigned tasks.
- Conduct regular field visits to monitor ongoing data collection activities.
- Collaborate with Village Dorbar Committees or equivalent institutions to develop comprehensive Natural Resource Management (NRM) Plans.
- Engage with community members and stakeholders effectively.
Age Limit
- Candidates must be between 18 to 35 years of age.
Preferred Languages
- Khasi, Garo, and Jaintia.

- 28 posts across multiple districts in Meghalaya:
East Garo Hills, East Jaintia Hills, East Khasi Hills, Eastern West Khasi Hills, North Garo Hills, Ri Bhoi, South Garo Hills, South West Garo Hills, South West Khasi Hills, West Garo Hills, West Jaintia Hills, West Khasi Hills.
Monthly Emolument
- ₹18,150 per month (plus allowances)
Contract Duration and Terms
- Engagement is strictly on a daily wages basis.
- The contract may be terminated early by the Government or due to non-performance.
- The position does not guarantee regularization or future employment.
- Selected candidates must sign a Deed Agreement with MBMA.
Eligibility Conditions
- Applicants must be between 18–35 years as on the date of application.
- Candidates must not be on the regular payroll of any Government department.

Selection Process
- Applications will be screened and evaluated based on qualifications and test performance.
- The selection process includes:
- Written Test
- Personal Interview
- Tests and interviews will be conducted at respective District Headquarters/Blocks.
- Only candidates who qualify in the written test will be shortlisted for the interview.
- Failure to appear for the interview will result in immediate rejection.
- Misconduct or misrepresentation during any stage will lead to disqualification.
General Information
- Possession of minimum qualifications does not guarantee shortlisting. MBMA may adopt additional criteria.
- Shortlisted candidates will receive notification via SMS/E-mail.
- Lists of shortlisted candidates will also be available at www.mbda.gov.in and office notice boards.
- MBMA may:
- Conduct additional examinations or skill tests
- Request additional documentation
- Relax qualifications in special cases
- Increase or decrease the number of vacancies
- Extend the closing date or cancel the recruitment at any time
- No TA/DA will be provided for attending tests or interviews.
- Canvassing in any form will lead to disqualification.
