The Meghalaya State Pollution Control Board (MSPCB), under the Forests & Environment Department, Government of Meghalaya, invites online applications from eligible Indian citizens for multiple vacancies across different positions. Interested candidates may apply online through the official portal at https://megspcb.gov.in as per the terms and conditions of this notification.

Available Posts

Applications are invited for the following positions:

1. Scientist–B

• Vacancy: 1 post
• Level of Pay: L-16 (As per Meghalaya Fifth Pay Commission)
• Qualification: Master’s Degree in Agriculture/Forestry/Chemistry/Botany/Zoology/Physics/Environmental Science/Ecology & Environment/Geology/Biochemistry/Microbiology.
• Experience: Minimum 7 years’ experience in environmental/pollution control laboratories or equivalent fields. PhD preferred.

2. Assistant Environmental Engineer

• Vacancies: 4 posts
• Level of Pay: L-15
• Qualification: Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical/Environmental/Civil Engineering from a recognized university.

3. Assistant Law Officer

• Vacancy: 1 post
• Level of Pay: L-15
• Qualification: LL.B with at least 2 years’ relevant legal practice.

4. Junior Accountant

• Vacancies: 2 posts
• Level of Pay: L-11
• Qualification: Bachelor’s Degree in Arts/Science/Commerce/Business Administration with computer knowledge and accounting software skills.

5. Lower Division Assistant (LDA)

• Vacancies: 3 posts
• Level of Pay: L-8
• Qualification: Bachelor’s Degree in any discipline with knowledge of computers.

6. Data Entry Operator

• Vacancies: 2 posts
• Level of Pay: L-7
• Qualification: Bachelor’s Degree with a Diploma in Computer Applications OR Degree in Computer Applications.
• Typing Requirement: Minimum speed of 8000 key depressions per hour.
• Experience: Minimum 1 year.

7. Technical Assistant

• Vacancies: 2 posts
• Level of Pay: L-7
• Qualification: Class XII with a Certificate in Electronics/Instrumentation from a recognized technical institution.

8. Typist Grade-III

• Vacancies: 3 posts
• Level of Pay: L-4
• Qualification: Class XII passed with computer knowledge and minimum 40 w.p.m. typing speed in English.

How to Apply

• Online application begins from 13 February 2025 and closes at 12:00 PM on 5 March 2025.
• Applicants must register through the Meghalaya Online Recruitment Application System using a valid email ID.
• Each post will generate a unique application code, which must be used for all future correspondence.
• Application fee is Rs. 320 per post.
  • ST/SC permanently residing in Meghalaya pay Rs. 160.
  • Payment Methods: Internet Banking, Credit/Debit Cards, UPI.
• Fees are non-refundable.

Age Limit

As on 01 January 2025:

• Minimum: 18 years
• Maximum: 32 years
• Relaxation:
  • SC/ST: +5 years
  • PwD: +10 years (15 years for SC/ST)

No upper-age relaxation for regular Government employees appointed within the prescribed limit.

Reservation

Reservation is as per Government of Meghalaya rules. Posts for PwD candidates carry additional relaxation as applicable.

Method of Examination

Written Examination will be OMR-based and conducted for all eligible candidates. Syllabus differs for each post and includes:

• General Awareness
• Reasoning and Aptitude
• Core Subjects (Engineering, Law, Commerce, Science, etc.)
• Computer Knowledge
• English
• Mathematics (10th level)

Important Candidate Instructions

Candidates will be debarred for:

• Malpractices or unfair means
• Canvassing in any form

Debarment may be permanent and can include legal action.
