The District Selection Committee (DSC), East Jaintia Hills District, Khliehriat, invites online applications from genuine Indian citizens who are permanent residents of Meghalaya for recruitment to various Grade-III posts under different departments.
Eligible candidates are advised to carefully read the instructions before filling out the online application form.

Available Posts
Applications are invited for the following positions:
- Lower Division Assistant (Pay Level 5) – 7 Posts
- Gram Sevak (Pay Level 5) – 2 Posts
- Typist (Pay Level 4) – 1 Post
- Technician Grade-II (Pay Level 4) – 1 Post
Educational Qualifications
- Lower Division Assistant (LDA):
Passed SSLC with basic computer knowledge (Both Male & Female). - Gram Sevak:
Passed SSLC from a recognized board (Only Male). - Typist:
Passed SSLC with computer knowledge and a minimum typing speed of 30 words per minute (to be verified through a skill test) (Both Male & Female). - Technician Grade-II:
Passed SSLC with a 2-year ITI Certificate in Electrician trade (Only Male).
Age Limit
- Candidates must be between 18 to 32 years of age as on 1st January 2025.
- Upper age relaxation:
- 5 years for SC/ST candidates.
- For Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PWDs): As per O.M. No. PER(AR)150/88/560 dated 18th January 2023.
- There is no upper age limit for regular government employees who entered service within the prescribed age and produce a valid No Objection Certificate (NOC) from their department.
Note: The date of birth accepted will be that recorded in the Matriculation or Secondary School Certificate. Other documents will not be accepted as proof of age.
Reservation Policy
Reservation of vacancies will be made according to the existing State Reservation Policy of the Government of Meghalaya.
The DSC reserves the right to increase or decrease the number of posts depending on requirements.
Application Fee
- ₹100/- for all Grade-III posts.
- 50% (₹50/-) for SC/ST candidates who are permanent residents of Meghalaya.
- Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PWDs): Exempted from payment of fees (on submission of a valid Disability Certificate as per Notification No. PER(AR).150/88/Pt.1/43 dated 29th April 2015).
Mode of Payment:
- Online through the Government Receipt Accounting System (GRAS) portal using:
- Debit/Credit Card
- Net Banking (SBI or other banks through SBI e-payment gateway)
- UPI
Important:
- Do not retry payment if the amount is deducted but not immediately reflected.
- The application fee is non-refundable and non-transferable.
- Keep a copy of the payment receipt for future reference.

Selection Process
The final selection of candidates will be based on the following stages:
- Screening Test (Multiple Choice Questions) – Total 300 marks, covering:
- English – 100 marks
- General Knowledge & Current Affairs – 100 marks
- Aptitude, Reasoning & Elementary Mathematics – 100 marks
- Qualifying Test on Local Language – As per O.M. No. PER(AR)25/2022/24 dated 24th July 2023, all applicants must pass a qualifying paper on knowledge of the local language of the district.
- Personal Interview – Only candidates who qualify in the written test will be called for the interview.
Important Instructions
- Applications must be submitted online only via https://eastjaintiahills.gov.in.
- First-time applicants must complete a one-time registration before applying.
- Candidates who have already registered can log in and apply directly.
- The last date for submission of online applications is 20th November 2025.
- As per Government Memo No. PER(AR)111/2022/70-A dated 27th March 2025, preference will be given to local candidates permanently residing in East Jaintia Hills District.
- Candidates must enter all educational qualifications accurately. Incorrect or incomplete entries will result in rejection.
- All applicants will be permitted to appear for the written test. Document verification will be conducted only after the exam.
- Admission to all stages of recruitment will be purely provisional and subject to eligibility verification.
- Original documents must be produced at the time of the interview. Failure to do so will result in disqualification.
- Candidates must appear for written, physical, or typing tests at their own expense.
- Any attempt to influence the selection process will lead to immediate disqualification.
- If found ineligible at any stage, the candidate’s application will be cancelled without notice.
