Recruitment Notice: Lecturer and Assistant Professor Positions at Shillong Polytechnic and Shillong Government College of Engineering

The Meghalaya Education Recruitment Board (MERB) invites online applications from eligible and qualified candidates for recruitment to the following posts:

• Lecturer in Electrical Engineering at Shillong Polytechnic
• Assistant Professor in Civil Engineering and Electrical Engineering at Shillong Government College of Engineering

Applications must be submitted online only through https://rpa.meghalaya.gov.in. Applications submitted through any other mode will not be accepted.

The online application portal will be active from 28th October 2025, and the last date for submission is 27th November 2025 (up to 11:59 PM).

Educational Qualifications

For Lecturer in Electrical Engineering (Shillong Polytechnic):

• B.E. / B.Tech. / B.S. in the relevant discipline with First Class or equivalent.

For Assistant Professor (Shillong Government College of Engineering):

• B.E. / B.Tech. / B.S. and M.E. / M.Tech. / M.S. or Integrated M.Tech. in the relevant branch with First Class or equivalent in any one of the degrees.

Note: Candidates must possess the required qualification as on the last date for submission of applications. The date of qualification will be considered as the date on which the result of the final examination is declared.

Age Limit

• The upper age limit is 32 years as on 1st October 2025.
• A relaxation of 5 years is applicable for SC/ST candidates.
• There is no upper age limit for candidates already in Meghalaya Government service, provided they entered service within the prescribed age limit.

Application Fee

• ₹460/- for all posts (non-refundable).
• Payment must be made online via Debit/Credit Card, Net Banking, or UPI.
• Additional bank charges may apply.
• Fees once paid will not be refunded or adjusted for any other purpose.

Selection Process

The selection of candidates will be conducted by MERB through one of the following methods:

1. Written Examination (MCQ format) followed by Personal Interview, or
2. Short-listing of candidates based on MERB norms followed by Personal Interview.

The decision of MERB regarding the selection process shall be final. Candidates must produce original documents (educational certificates, birth certificate, caste/community certificate, etc.) at the time of the interview.

Important Instructions

• Applicants are advised to apply well before the closing date to avoid last-minute issues.
• Admission at all stages of recruitment will be purely provisional, subject to verification of eligibility.
• Candidates found furnishing false information or suppressing facts will be disqualified and debarred from future MERB examinations.
• Any attempt to use unfair means or impersonation will lead to permanent debarment and may attract criminal prosecution.
