The Meghalaya Public Service Commission (MPSC) invites online applications from eligible Indian citizens on behalf of the Government of Meghalaya for recruitment to the prestigious Meghalaya Civil Service (MCS).
Applications must be submitted online only through the MPSC official website. The last date for submission is 10th November 2025 (up to 5:00 PM).
Applicants are advised to carefully read the eligibility conditions and update their profiles before applying.
Examination Centres
The MCS Examination 2025 will be conducted at the following centres:
- Shillong
- Tura
- Jowai
- Williamnagar
- Nongstoin
The Commission reserves the right to alter or merge examination centres based on the number of applications received.

Pay Scale: Level 15 of the Revised Pay Structure
Educational Qualification:
- A Bachelor’s Degree from any recognized University.
Note:
- Applicants must have acquired the required qualification as on the last date of application submission.
- The date of qualification will be considered as the date when the result of the final examination was officially declared by the concerned University or Institution.
Total Vacancies: 36 (including 1 post each for Sports Person under Khasi & Jaintia and Garo categories)
Age Limit (as on 1st January 2025)
- Minimum Age: 21 years
- Maximum Age: 32 years
Relaxation:
- 5 years for SC/ST candidates.
- Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PWDs):
- Group ‘C’ & ‘D’ posts: 10 years (15 years for SC/ST)
- Group ‘A’ & ‘B’ posts (through open competitive exam): 10 years (15 years for SC/ST)
- Group ‘A’ & ‘B’ posts (other than open competitive exam): 5 years (10 years for SC/ST)
- No age limit for regular Government employees who entered service within the prescribed age limit.
Only the Matriculation or Secondary School Leaving Certificate will be accepted as valid proof of age.
Application Fee
- ₹460/- for General candidates.
- ₹230/- for SC/ST candidates (permanent residents of Meghalaya).
- Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PWDs): Exempted from payment upon submission of a valid Disability Certificate (as per Notification No. PER(AR).150/88/Pt.1/43 dated 29th April 2015).

- Online through GRAS payment gateway using:
- Debit Card / Credit Card
- Net Banking (SBI or other banks via SBI e-Pay)

Candidates must submit their applications online only via the MPSC website:

- Applications through any other mode will not be accepted.
- First-time users must complete a one-time registration before applying.
- Those already registered may log in directly and apply against the advertised post.
- The last date for submission of the online application is 10th November 2025 (5:00 PM).
Selection Procedure
The selection process for the Meghalaya Civil Service (MCS) will be conducted through the following stages:
- Preliminary Examination – Objective type (Screening Test)
- Main Examination – Descriptive written examination
- Personal Interview / Personality Test

Selection Ratios:
- From Preliminary to Main Examination – 1:15 (for every vacancy, 15 candidates will be shortlisted).
- From Main Examination to Interview – 1:1.5
Only candidates who qualify in the Preliminary Examination will be allowed to appear in the Main Examination, and only those who qualify in the Main Examination will be called for the Interview.
Documents Required
Candidates must produce original documents at the time of verification/interview:
- Educational qualification certificates
- Birth certificate or Matriculation certificate
- Caste/Community certificate (if applicable)
- Disability certificate (if applicable)
Failure to produce original documents will lead to disqualification.
General Instructions
- Apply well in advance — avoid waiting until the closing date.
- Admission to all stages of the recruitment process is provisional, subject to verification of eligibility.
- Any false declaration or suppression of information will result in disqualification and possible debarment from future examinations.
- Requests to change category or examination centre after submission will not be entertained.
- Sports persons must have represented the State at International, National, or Regional level in Olympic-recognized disciplines (as per OM No. PER(AR)150/88/534 dated 7th August 2017).
- Persons with Disabilities (PH candidates) must possess valid certificates issued by a competent authority.
- Candidates must appear for all examinations and interviews at their own expense.
Commission’s Decision
The decision of the Meghalaya Public Service Commission regarding eligibility, selection, and recommendation shall be final and binding.
Candidates are advised to ensure they fully meet all eligibility criteria before applying, as no “ineligibility list” will be issued.
If found ineligible at any stage, candidature will be cancelled immediately, regardless of examination performance.
