Applications are invited from the residents of Meghalaya having requisite qualification & experience as mentioned hereafter for the three posts to be members of an Appellate Authority of Ombudsperson under MGNREGA for a period of two years extendable on the basis of performance for not more than twice by one year each.

Essential Qualifications
- Minimum 30 years of experience in academics (teaching) or civil service or civil society organization.
- Person with eminent standing and impeccable integrity.
- Not a Member of any recognized political party or currently banned orga n ization
- Physically active, capable of and willing to conduct field visits to remote rural areas in the State.
- Those who have completed at least L (one) year as MGNREGA Ombudsperson will be given preference.
Minimum age limit: Below 66 years as on O1/O1/2023.
Nature of work: To consider representation by any party aggrieved by the awards of the Ombudsperson. Such a representation/appeal shall be disposed of within a period of two months by the Appellate Authority. All decisions of the Appellate Authority on appeals against the awards of the Ombudspersons will be taken by all the three members together. Senior most of the three members of the Appellate Authority will be the Chairperson. (Guidelines enclosed for further reference).
Fixed Honorarium: Subject to any notification by the State Govt. the member of the Appellate Authority of Ombudsperson shall be entitled to get Rs. 2, 500/- (Two Thousand Five Hundred) per sitting with maximum upper limit of Rs. 50,000/- (Fifty thousand) per month. TA/DA at rates admissible to Class I Officers of the State Government will be provided.
Sitting means per day functioning irrespective of number of cases handled and its duration in terms of working hours. A sitting could be for a part of a day also. The frequency of sitting by Ombudsperson shall be need based and cannot be determined.
