The North Eastern Indira Gandhi Regional Institute of Health & Medical Sciences (NEIGRIHMS), Shillong invites eligible candidates to attend a walk-in interview for the following contractual positions under the ICMR Extramural Project titled “Accelerating Efforts to End TB in India.”
The engagement will be purely temporary for a period of 3 months or until the completion of the project, whichever is earlier, and the selected candidates will have no claim for regular appointment thereafter.

1. Name of the Post: Project Technical Support – I
Number of Posts: 1 (One)
Eligibility:
- Graduate in relevant subjects (Social Work / Nursing / Public Health)
OR - 10+ Diploma (MLT / DMLT / Public Health) with at least 2 years of experience in relevant fields.
Desirable:
- Fluency in English and Khasi.
Emoluments: ₹18,000/- per month + 9% HRA (Consolidated).
Duration: 3 months.
Upper Age Limit: 28 years.
2. Name of the Post: Project Technical Support – II
Number of Posts: 1 (One)
Eligibility:
- 12th Pass in Science and Graduate in Radiography & Imaging Technology or Laboratory Technology,
OR - Diploma in Radiography & Imaging Technology or Laboratory Technology with 5 years of experience in relevant fields.
Desirable:
- Fluency in English and Khasi.
Emoluments: ₹20,000/- per month + 9% HRA (Consolidated).
Duration: 3 months.
Upper Age Limit: 30 years.
Field Posting and Work Requirements
- The positions require extensive field travel and residence within Jaintia Hills (East and West) districts of Meghalaya.
- Staff accommodation will be self-arranged in Khliehriat, Jowai, or nearby areas within Jaintia Hills.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Conduct data collection from more than 200 rural villages and 30 urban census wards across selected blocks in Jaintia Hills.
- Perform fieldwork from 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM, depending on participant availability.
- Carry out face-to-face interviews with selected family members and collect sputum samples for laboratory testing.
- Responsible for data entry, supervision of field staff, and operation of portable X-ray machines for chest imaging in the field.
- Ensure proper maintenance of field and laboratory equipment.
